What is an IBCLC?
The letters IBCLC stand for International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, considered the highest level of accreditation in the field of lactation. An IBCLC is an allied healthcare professional certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners® (IBLCE®) An IBCLC has greater than 1000 hours hands-on breastfeeding experience and 90 hours breastfeeding education completed before even sitting the Internationally recognised exam. An IBCLC is an infant feeding specialist.
Can I claim back on my Private Health Insurance?
Most Private health insurance companies will allow for antenatal breastfeeding classes & lactation consultations to be claimed back on. It is important to check with your own provider & seek clarity on this. All clients a receipt of services paid for which they can claim back against their private insurance or MED1.

When should I consider getting an IBCLC?
Getting specialist breastfeeding help earlier will result in better outcomes by preventing situations escalating.
At what point in my pregnancy should I take a class?
This varies from couple to couple. I recommend anytime from the end of your second trimester to any stage in your third trimester. Just don’t leave it too late in case you go early!
What platform do you use to host your classes?
All classes are now online and are hosted via Zoom. Once the class is paid for you will receive your link to the class and receipt. Please ensure your address is correct in the booking form as your booklet will be posted to this address.

Is your Newborn Care Class for anyone?
This is specifically aimed at new parents or if you have had a big gap between your children. It covers all the basics for caring for your newborn when you arrive home.
