Hello! I’m Katie Mugan, one of Irelands best-known and most trusted breastfeeding experts and certified lactation consultants. As an experienced General, Paediatric and Public Health Nurse for over 20 years, I’m passionate about empowering mums around breastfeeding. When it comes to breastfeeding, support and knowledge is the key to success.
I offer both in a non-judgmental and friendly way. I’m also here to help you make informed decisions around breastfeeding and to reach your goals, as well as offering key support when it’s time to think about weaning from breastfeeding. This is YOUR baby and YOUR journey, and it must be on YOUR terms.
But more than that, I’m a mum too. I’m lucky enough to have four gorgeous children and let me tell you, each one is different, and each had completely different breastfeeding journeys. I’ve been in your shoes. I’ve gone through that roller-caster of emotions. I know exactly how you’re feeling and how many questions you probably have right now.
And I’m here to help, offering breastfeeding support, knowledge, and expertise. They say it takes a village to raise a child, but these day’s that can be hard to find. So, think of me as your village. I’m experienced, friendly and passionate about helping you and your baby.
As well as my breastfeeding preparation courses and one-to-one lactation and breastfeeding consultations, I’ve also developed the first and most comprehensive on-demand video course. It allows you to watch and learn everything you need to know about breastfeeding on your own terms – from breastfeeding preparation, to combatting breastfeeding problems, to weaning whilst breastfeeding and even support stopping breastfeeding.
I also offer parents antenatal workshops on complete baby care; with literally everything you need to know from feeding to bathing, to reflux, colic and everything in between.
As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, I adore passing on my top breastfeeding knowledge and expertise. I’m a regular key speaker at corporate events, on TV, in magazines and online and have just launched my brand-new podcast, called The Baby Tribe Podcast.
